It will be presented in the National Museum of the American
Indian’s Rasmuson Theater.
Set in Hawaii during the early 19th Century, this poignant
piece explores the complex relationships between Christian
missionaries and indigenous women forty years after the
islands’ fi rst contact with the West.

Preparation:
You will be asked to do a cold reading from the script,
usually paired with another actor. If auditioning for
Ka’ahumanu, please come prepared to perform a chant
that is culturally appropriate to share at an audition.
Auditions will be held in the museum’s Rasmuson Theater
on Thursday, March 19, beginning at 5:00 p.m.
