NuiNani Makaha is the leader and Artistic Director of DC Luau Entertainment troupe, established in Washington Dc since 2003.Dc Luau Entertainment is the former BLE Polynesian Division that have been performing and mesmerizing audiences from back yard luaus, corporate to government events like NASA, NAVAL REASEARCH LABORATORY, NAVY, WASHINGTON TIMES, NARA, ANDREWS AFB, UNITED STATES TREASURY, NATIONAL ZOO, ROTARY CLUB, WALTER REED ARMY MEDICAL CANTER ABD CELEBRITIES LUAUS LIKE JERRY STACKHOUSE AND CHRIS SAMUELS.

Nuinani received many awards including the 2008 Asian Pacific Heritage Month Program for the Mine Safety and Health Administration, Pangaea Frederick-A Festival celebrating our Heritage among others.
From Portuguese descend NuiNani has lots of talents, including dance, music and fine arts. The Portuguese arrived at the Islands to labor in the plantations between 1878 and 1913, and are responsible for the MIGRATION OF 'UKULELE TO HAWAII’ the original name of this little guitar was “braga” or “cavaco”, Soon it gained a great popularity throughout Polynesia, and especially in the Hawaiian Islands. However, the 'ukulele is a little different from his ancestor cavaco , but that doesn’t take the credit from the Portuguese’s for this incredible addition to the wonderful Hawaiian songs.
At First NuiNani has learned Hula in the beautiful Island of Kauai and her goal is to graduate in Hawaiian culture at the Kauai Community College.

NuiNani welcomes all audience, regardless of faith, ethnicity and culture, she actually feels very lucky to be able to work with what she really loves. Through the authentic Hula dance, she is able to express herself, entertain and bring the true aloha sprit for all your guests in a simple, alluring and captivating way. Her dance and chants will engaged audience of all ages. With a lot of audience participation. NuinNani believes that hula is sacred , but you still can respect and share this spirituality while performing.

NuiNaini is proud of her vast collection of authentic Polynesian costumes, making it easy for costumers to chose from.

In her spare time NuiNani enjoy spending quality time with her 3 cats and play piano.
